Take it on the Run….

Even if you’re on the right track, you’ll get run over if you just sit there. Will Rogers

Well, it’s time to move forward. We have a potential gig at The Gathering Place in Eagle, we should know something by Sunday and very soon we should be hearing back from the New Frontier. We are working steadily to get out and going. The sooner the better. One of the guys in the band is in such a financial bind and I am terribly worried about him, but feel powerless to help him except to get gigs going as soon as I can.  We have had such a great amount of support from our new fan base and from local musicians such as Greg Asbury from Loose Change and Candi Reid from Dakota Mad Band. They have been great. Candi was the one responsible for getting us up to play 1 set at the New Frontier on Thursday night and we are so grateful. Any help we can get is very much appreciated.

Unfortunately, as with many things in life, in order to open more doors you have to close others. This is going to be our last night at La Cantina Sociale Wine Bar. One of the main reasons is that we need to spend Saturday nights tightening down our sets, and we need to have Saturday nights free to play paying gigs. I am working diligently to get someone in to take over for us and I think Jason is going to do it. For one things, as a 5 piece blues band we are entirely too loud for Giuseppe’s place and I always feel that we are blasting people out. We aren’t doing it on purpose, it just can’t be helped because of the accoustics.

I’m sad to see it go, but we have to move on. I am anxious to see where we are headed as a band and I want to get our sets finalized so we can start adding in more complex songs and some originals. With that I leave you with one of my favorite REO songs….

The only thing constant in life is change. It’s fun to watch your journey. Good luck on these next steps.
